The view is everything in this wonderful restaurant, and it is pictured in the cover photo for this post. Request (rather, book) a table outside and you will have a picture perfect view of Santa Maria dell'Isola. We dined amidst the most beautiful, enveloping pastel sunset. I take it back, actually; the view is not everything as the food is excellent as well.
Recommended Dishes
Antipasto- Their antipasti plates are really great because they offer you a taste of a few different selections in small portion sizes intended for one. Choose one of these on offer!
Fileja con ‘nduja; you will find a variation of this dish at all the restaurants I recommend and you must rry it at least once! My bet is you will want it more than once…
Primo- Fileja con cipolla di Tropea, ‘nduja e scaglie di pecorino (all the culinary treats that the region is famous for wrapped into one dish!)
Dolci- Have a tartufo here, or take a short stroll to a Tartuferia, like Dal Conte, for a full menu of diverse flavors.
Always ‘digest’ with a Vecchio Amaro Del Capo, if you like.

This restaurant was a nice change of scenery as it is located down by the port in Tropea. We sat at a table outside with a lovely sunset over the boats at bay, very romantic. Lovely sunsets and delicious food are delightful motifs running through an experience in Tropea.
Recommended Dishes
Antipasto- Try some of the ‘crudi’ (raw seafood dishes) on offer!
Primo- Paccheri agli scampi or any seafood pastas
Secondo- Fresh and local fish
Dolci- Tartufo (duh!)

This place offers no frills but delicious seafood. Seriously. The owners are fishermen as well, and we had a very nice conversation with them about it.

This restaurant also offers fresh seafood and no frills. In addition, the pizza was delicious, especially if you want some variation from seafood and pasta. Pinturicchio is located in an alley way in the center of Tropea, but it is one of the most beautiful alley ways I have ever eaten in.
